"What is the primary benefit I will derive from working with Kellogg & Kimsey?" You'll increase your chances of working with the client again. The smoother the project is executed in the field, the greater the client satisfaction. An architect friend commented recently that he had a well designed project go south because of the weak general contractor selected by the client. Since the client had such a bad taste in his mouth for all associated with the project, he didn't anticipate working for the client again.
"What would architects say that have worked with you during pre-construction?" They would tell you that we approach the project in a total spirit of cooperation and with the ultimate goal of the team to deliver a design that meets the client's goals for function and look, but at a cost that delivers optimum value and enables the client to go forward. As we work with the architect and other team members such as the engineers and subcontractors to suggest value engineering possibilities, we respect your creative talent and do our best to maintain the architectural intent.
"How would you characterize your Project Managers and Superintendents when difficult issues arise?" The word we hear most often is "professional" and "practical". When an issue is discovered, our folks don't start pointing fingers. They study the situation, determine possible solutions with the corresponding costs, and collaborate with the team in a timely manner to determine what's best. Once a decision is made, it's immediately implemented.
"We're an out-of-state architectural firm, what grade have other design firms given Kellogg & Kimsey?" Excellent. As a matter fact, architects and corporate project managers who have worked with us before often reduce the number of trips to the project location because of their faith in our Project Managers and Superintendents. Our superintendents are tech savvy and submit weekly status reports with digital photos for all team members. We had a recent renovation project that was visited by the out of state architect and client Project Manager only one time before it was completed.

"Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar is one of Nelsen Architect's most valued repeat clients. Each of the more than twenty restaurants that we have taken from design through opening for them has presented its own challenges. Perhaps the most challenging so far has been the Sarasota, Florida location. As a tenant improvement to a former bank space in a forty plus year old building, it offered a shopping list of potential problems. With our offices half a country away in Austin, Texas, the excellent lines of communication provided by Kellogg & Kimsey to their offices and the site were vital in keeping the project moving and meeting the opening date. As problem after problem arose with building inside of a forty-year-old shell, the team at Kellogg & Kimsey proved up to the task working out efficient solutions quickly to meet the aggressive opening schedule. Kellogg & Kimsey, made a challenging construction process seem easy with the reward in the end of an outstanding product. We look forward to working with Kellogg & Kimsey again both on a professional level as they came through with a superior end product and on a personal level as they were a great team to work with."
