Kellogg & Kimsey named Gulf Coast Builders Exchange "Contractor of the Year"

Kellogg & Kimsey was awarded the first Contractor of the Year Award by the Subcontractor Committee of the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange last year. The purpose of establishing the award was to select a contractor whose business practices would be a model for other general contractors and subcontractors.

The recipient represents the absolute best of the industry based on selection criteria such as: business practices and ethics, quality of project management and supervision, project safety, scheduling, payment practices, and the involvement of management in the industry and our community. The selection committee sought to select the contractor that consistently demonstrates an honest and open approach with everyone involved with their projects; a contractor that is professional, fair, and capable of melding a smoothly functioning construction team.

What an honor it was for Kellogg & Kimsey and its employees to receive this award from peers within the industry. The relationship a general contractor has with subcontractors is important not only to the client, but also to the client's architect, lender, and legal advisor. In the busy subcontractor market that exists today, subcontractors are choosing to submit pricing only to the contractors they would most like to work with.

We get down to business to deliver fast paced high quality construction projects but we enjoy some lighthearted humor and inspirational quotes along the way as well.

* The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company & a church & a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past & we can not change the fact that people act a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude & I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you & we are in charge of our ATTITUDES.
